Mexico celebrates 2015 with the latest generation of Thales TopSky-AIM

- Madrid, Spain.

SENEAM, the Mexican Air Service Provider has accepted the latest version of Thales AIM (Aeronautical Information Management) solution based on AIXM 5.1 standard designed and promoted by ICAO, Eurocontrol and FAA.
Built around this centralised AIXM 5.1 database, Thales AIM solution deployed in Mexico is composed of a database management interface, an electronic AIP tool, Charting (AIP-GIS Charting®) and Procedure Design (Geotitan®). This solution will enhance the quality of data published by Mexico, and will facilitate the exchange and interoperability with the FAA on one side and the ANSPs of the Central American and Caribbean region on the other side.

This new AIM solution, based on the latest generation of the high-end Thales TopSky-AIM product release, natively embeds AIXM 5.1 standard as well as full compliance to ICAO Transition from AIS to AIM, reminded in ASBU Block 0. It already prepares SENEAM for major evolutions of the coming years such as SWIM, Digital NOTAM and the integration with Thales TopSky-ATM solution.

This AIM project reinforces the long-term relationship of confidence established between SENEAM and Thales in the ATM domain.

With more than 130 radars and 25 Air traffic Centres installed across Mexico, Santo Domingo, Colombia, Ecuador, Chile, Argentina, Uruguay and Brazil, as well as navigation aids systems in operation in nearly all the countries of the region, Thales confirms its strong leadership in the broader Latin American region, where it has been present for over 40 years.

Commenting on this significant achievement, Keith Carr, AIM Business Unit Director, said: “We are incredibly proud of delivering SENEAM with the latest AIXM 5.1 based TopSky-AIM solution, enabling them to reaffirm their leadership position in Information Management”.
