Naviair upgrades to ambient recording with Jotron Ricochet

Jotron AS, a leading manufacturer of professional communication systems for safety across various industries, has collaborated with Naviair to successfully enhance their existing legal recording system by incorporating advanced ambient recording capabilities. The Danish air navigation service provider is responsible for managing air traffic within Denmark's controlled airspace. They have been using Jotron Ricochet Recorders for air traffic control since 2016. Ambient recording at Danish airports has become mandatory due to new EU regulations.

Incheon Airport now operational with INDRA's advanced air navigation systems

Incheon, the primary gateway to the Republic of Korea and one Asia’s largest airports, is now operational with Indra’s state-of-the-art instrument landing systems (ILS) on all four runways. This follows a contract awarded to Indra in 2023 for the provision of its advanced Normarc ILS, distance measuring equipment (DME) and DVOR (Doppler VHF Omnidirectional Range). The systems contribute to safe air navigation during the approach and landing.

NATS introduces world-first aircraft separation system at Gatwick, cutting carbon emissions and boosting on-time performance

A new way of separating aircraft arriving into Gatwick Airport is set to cut carbon emissions by between 11,000 and 19,000 tonnes a year – and minimise delays - according to the air traffic management service, NATS. Aircraft flying to the airport are now being separated by dynamically calculated time-based intervals, instead of traditional set distances in what is a world first for a single runway airport. The change is designed to enhance the consistency of the landing rate and improve the efficiency of the runway, especially in strong winds.

Protect satellite navigation from interference, UN agencies urge

Aviation, maritime and telecoms agencies raise alarm over increase in jamming and spoofing of satellite navigation systems - Increasing incidents of interference with aviation, maritime and other satellite telecommunications services mean states must urgently enhance the protection of a critical radio-frequency band, the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), International Telecommunication Union (ITU) and International Maritime Organization (IMO) said with “grave concern” in a joint statement.
