Frequentis on the way to the market leadership in the AIM world market

Frequentis, the Austrian-based leader in ATC voice communication, has acquired the business and assets of Global Weather Dynamics, Inc. (GWDI). The transaction was completed at the beginning of March 2010. Frequentis now offers its customers an even broader portfolio of aeronautical information management (AIM) products and services.
Frequentis, headquartered in Vienna, Austria, is an international supplier of communications and information systems in the fields of air traffic management (civil and military air traffic control) and public safety & transport (police, rescue and fire services, coastal rescue, railways, shipping, and others). As such, Frequentis maintains a global network of subsidiaries dealing with sales and operations. This network provides a platform for sales and project processing in the various regions addressed by the company. Located in Monterey, California, GWDI is a leading provider of data communication and information systems to the Air Navigation Services Providers (ANSP) market. A Cambridge Information Group (CIG) portfolio company, GWDI brings an extensive range of AIM products to the deal, as well as a customer base that covers over 20 countries with more than 40 installations. With the addition of GWDIs market share, Frequentis now has 18% of the AIM world market, thus making the company the largest supplier. Improved and expanded product portfolio in the field of AIM GWDI in Monterey will be run as a separate Frequentis subsidiary Frequentis California., Inc. and John Fort will continue his CEO role with the new company. Combining with Frequentis allows GWDI to operate more efficiently, improve their fiscal base and further enhance the range and quality of products and services offered to their customers.
