Airways New Zealand Upgrades its Air Traffic Management Network with FREQUENTIS State-of-the-Art IP Technology

In 2013 Airways New Zealand contracted Frequentis to upgrade the current E1 based Frequentis VCX backbone to state-of-the-art and ICAO-compliant ED-137 based IP technology. The delivery includes more than 200 Frequentis VCX-IP ED-137 network nodes connecting voice communication systems, radio equipment, radar systems and other mission-critical equipment into Airways’ high-availability MPLS backbone. Today the migration of nationwide safety-critical data and voice network to IP technology is progressing rapidly.

FREQUENTIS Tests SESAR Solution for Air Traffic Control Towers to Optimise Airport Integration and Throughput

European controllers have successfully validated the SESAR Release 4 Air Traffic Control Tower Solution. Frequentis, together with EUROCONTROL and the German air navigation service provider DFS Deutsche Flugsicherung GmbH, performed an extensive validation using the SESAR Advanced Controller Working Position (A-CWP). The validation, took place at the EUROCONTROL Experimental Center in Bretigny, France end of 2014. Over four days a group of European controllers validated the solution by running multiple simulated exercises using different traffic scenarios, witnessed by the SESAR project members as well as independent observers from different European air navigation service providers and the European Commission.

FREQUENTIS Voice Recording Solutions Ensure Germany’s Area Control Centres are Ready for the Future

The long-term partnership between high-tech firm Frequentis and DFS Deutsche Flugsicherung GmbH has driven many innovations over the past three decades. One example is the latest release (3.2) of the fully-virtual Frequentis DIVOS 3 log voice recording system, developed with significant input from DFS on the required specifications. The DIVOS platform already operates at DFS's Langen and Munich ACCs. Signed in December 2014, the latest contract from this German ANSP will see Frequentis install two new DIVOS 3 log solutions at the Bremen and Karlsruhe ACCs in time for full operation in early 2016. All German ACCs will then be using this state-of-the-art voice recording system. The order also includes a new maintenance contract for the DIVOS system in Langen.
