The 2nd Frequentis ATM Users’ Experience Conference, hosted by Croatia Control, responds to ATM Challenges 2020

How are ANSPs to navigate through the current turbulent times? How can ANSPs fulfil their responsibilities to ensure cyber security? What impacts will virtual centres have on the ATM landscape? These and other pressing ATM issues will be addressed at the 2nd Frequentis ATM Users’ Experience Conference taking place in Dubrovnik in April 2016.

This Conference follows, on an even broader basis, the first Frequentis ATM Users’ Experience Conference in October 2014, hosted by the Hungarian ANSP HungaroControl, which brought together 40 senior-level stakeholders from European ANSPs and laid the basis for the upcoming conference in April 2016, hosted by Croatia Control.

“As participants of the first Frequentis ATM Users’ Experience Conference in Budapest, we experienced an extensive value and impact of that initiative where experts of 19 countries shared their experience and knowledge”, states Dragan Bilać, CEO Croatia Control. “Therefore we are happy and honoured to host the second ATM Users’ Experience Conference in Dubrovnik.”

The Conference takes place from 24 – 27 April 2016 in Dubrovnik and offers a comprehensive programme. To foster global experience sharing, a list of participants has been expanded to ANSPs from Frequentis’ worldwide customer base, and attendees from around the globe have already accepted a preliminary invitation.

Issues addressed will cover current ATM challenges, with a focus on ATM cyber threats. Prominent speakers who have already confirmed their attendance include: Frank Brenner, Director General of EUROCONTROL, Gen.(rtd) Dick Berlijn, Senior Board Advisor on Cyber Security at Deloitte and former Commander of the Armed Forces of the Netherlands, and Prof. Chris Johnson, University of Glasgow, Senior External Advisor to the European Commission and to the SESAR JU programme on Air Traffic Management.

“The first Frequentis ATM Users’ Experience Conference in Budapest was a splendid success”, comments Hannu Juurakko, Frequentis Vice President ATM Civil. “We received excellent feedback from all attendees. In addition, our customers raised some important issues and thus we obtained a plenitude of most appreciated inputs. Many thanks to Croatia Control for hosting the 2nd event!”

Initiated and based on strong users’ commitment
The Conference is a key element of the Frequentis ATM Users’ Experience Forum which is an open, regular user group of senior members from ANSPs. Its purpose is to enable knowledge sharing, as well as to stimulate and facilitate open discussion amongst members on Frequentis ATM products, solutions and services aiming to improve the operational efficiency with an optimised utilisation of the existing investments and assets.

The discussion within this user group benefits from the experience of other organisations, with the objective to further develop and improve safety, interoperability and efficiency, thus maximising the value of investments and total cost of ownership in ATM operations. The Forum is open to ANSPs and authorities using Frequentis products, solutions and services for air traffic management.
