Link Simulation & Training Air Traffic Control Academy and Grayson County College Announce Affiliation
The Link Simulation & Training Air Traffic Control Academy announced today that it is now affiliated with Grayson County College in Denison, Texas. Establishing this affiliation provides students interested in pursuing a career in air traffic control the opportunity to earn college credits as part of completing Links Control Tower Operator training program.
The academy is housed on the grounds of the North Texas Regional Airport (NTRA) in Denison. It offers an intensive 10-month course of instruction that consists of a mix of classroom instruction, simulation-based training and on-the-job training in NTRAs air traffic control tower.
We are very pleased to affiliate our Air Traffic Control Academy with Grayson County College and believe it speaks directly to the quality of instruction we provide, said David Williams, L-3 Links vice president of training services. Our affiliation affords individuals the opportunity to take steps toward earning a college degree while pursuing a career in air traffic control.
Links Air Traffic Control Academy students will enroll in Grayson County College and be provided with student benefits, including the ability to apply for private student loans through banks associated with the college. Upon completion of Links Control Tower Operator training program, students will be awarded a certificate in air traffic control and granted 28 credit hours toward attaining an associates degree in applied science in air traffic control.
