Success through collaboration
Following on from the successful SESAR and Future ATM Development Projects event at the RAF Club, the next Air Traffic Management Knowledge Network (ATM KN) forum will focus on some of the key concepts and technologies that will enable future ATM development initiatives to take flight.
The day will include presentations on some of the most pressing challenges that are currently being faced by air navigation service providers and airspace users. In particular subject areas considered as vital to the future growth and development of the UKs Air Traffic Management industry will be discussed. This forum, showcasing knowledge areas in which the UK is established at the forefront of global collaborative research and development, (across both industry and academia) will include talks on:
- Mitigating the impacts of wind-farms on radars
(Roke Manor Research)
- Securing CNS systems and their network security
(Praxis High Integrity Systems)
- Improving safety by reducing general aviation airspace incursions
(Helios)
- UAVs and their integration into mixed use airspace
(Lancaster University)
A presentation on the UKs Air Traffic Management Research and Development Roadmap will come from the Aerospace and Defence Knowledge Transfer Network while Dr Toniono Amorelli (Lead Transport Technologist of the Technology Strategy Board) will also lend his views to the forum. Stakeholders representing large industrial primes, universities and small to medium sized enterprises are expected to be in attendance.
