Company information

Avinor is responsible for planning, developing and operating the Norwegian airport network. Avinor operates 46 airports in Norway, thereof 12 in cooperation with the armed forces. Operations also include air traffic control towers, control centres and technical infrastructure for aircraft navigation. Safety has the highest priority, and Avinor is responsible for maintaining the correct security level at all airports. We continuously work towards limiting environmentally harmful emissions to air and ground and towards reducing aircraft noise. The company is self-financing. Avinor was established as a limited company, wholly owned by the state, on 1 January 2003.

The ownership is administered by the Ministry of Transport and Communications. The company was formerly the administrative company Luftfartsverket. Avinor AS is organized in a corporate staff and four divisions. The head office is in Oslo. The corporate staff consists of the CEO, CFO, HR and organization director, strategy director, safety and security director and communications director. Division directors head the Air Navigation Services division and the Large airports, Medium airports and Small airports divisions respectively. Oslo Lufthavn AS is a wholly-owned subsidiary and has its own managing director. Airport directors are responsible for the results of each individual airport.
