EURASIA COORDINATION COUNCIL

The State ATM Corporation is the ANS provider for Russias 25 million sq. km airspace which includes a total air route length of 530000 km. Its main objective is to make full use of available resources and potential to meet the demands of the users of Russias airspace. In 2005, the State ATM Corporation provided air traffic services to more than 900000 flights. More than 80 new routes have been opened over the past months and the airspace structure has been noticeable improved. Special attention is being paid to Cross-Polar flights from North America to South East and Central Asia as well as to flights in the area of responsibility of Kaliningrad ACC. Following the global trend, the State ATM Corporation is working to consolidate the existing 104 ACCs into 13 larger, automated centres, five of which will be operational by 2010. The State ATM Corporation currently holds the Presidency in the EURASIA Coordination Council (Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, the Russian Federation, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan) and maintains contacts with ICAO, Eurocontrol, IATA and CANSO.
