AviBit selected to equip up to 6 airports in Germany
AviBit Air Traffic Solutions and Deutsche Flugsicherung (DFS) – the German Air Navigation Service Provider –agreed on a framework contract for the delivery of Surface Movement Radars including Radar Data Extractors.
Together with its partner TERMA a/s, AviBit has submitted the most economical offer in response to the tender published by DFS. TERMA as a subcontractor will be responsible for the delivery of the Surface Movement Radars.
The first airport to be equipped with the SCANTER 5502 Solid State Radar and the AviBit ACEMAX Radar Data Extractor software will be Düsseldorf International Airport. Düsseldorf Airport is the third busiest airport in Germany and will be the fourth site in Germany to be equipped with the AviBit ACEMAX system. AviBit has already delivered three ACEMAX A-SMGCS systems to Berlin Brandenburg Airport, Hamburg International Airport and Nuremberg International Airport within the frame of a former contract.
“The acceptance of our bid by DFS is not only an important milestone to continue our growth within the European market, it is also a proof of confidence in the AviBit Solutions which are already well known to DFS.” says Dr. Konrad Köck, CEO of AviBit.
The delivery of new Surface Movement Radars and Radar Data Extractors will enable these airports not only to increase their capacity by using these data within A-SMGCS systems, it also ensures that the capacity is kept during Low Visibility Conditions while increasing the level of safety.
