C SPEED LightWave radar supported by COMSOFT RAPS-3
COMSOFT’s Surveillance Data support tool assists C SPEED with analysis and validation of their LightWave radar equipment
New York based radar system and subsystem supplier C SPEED acquired COMSOFT’s versatile ASTERIX test and reference tool RAPS-3, in order to evaluate their new primary radar data.
RAPS-3 is the world’s first EUROCONTROL qualified ASTERIX reference tool, highly customisable and with an unmatched capability to validate, filter, convert, generate and simulate any kind of surveillance data. The highly functional reference tool is widely used among a variety of bodies in the aviation domain who handle radar and other typical data, such as air navigation service providers or radar manufacturers like C SPEED.
COMSOFT’s strengths and core expertise in surveillance data technology led C SPEED to first choose the German expert’s powerful and flexible RAPS-3 product on an evaluation basis, along with providing a tailored training workshop to acquaint themselves with the surveillance tool’s vast capabilities and applications.
David Lysack at C SPEED noted their confidence in COMSOFT stating: “We were further convinced of the reliability of COMSOFT’s RAPS-3 following an extensive evaluation period to carry out an initial assessment of the ASTERIX output, radar accuracy calculation and comparison of radar data. With the complete assurance in COMSOFT’s technology, it was the obvious next step to make it a permanent fixture.”
RAPS-3 is a portable platform with a flexible approach to examining the quality and accuracy of surveillance data and a fully graphical user interface. The advanced and precise tool has over 100 systems in use around the globe for both civil and military customers and, as well as the standard configuration, there is also the ability to provide user-specific formatting.
