Airwayz facilitates Dutch Ministry visit to Israeli CAA

- Tel Aviv, Israel.

Dynamic UTM/USSP specialist, Airwayz, enjoyed its part in a visit over the last two days from the Dutch CAA and Rijkswaterstaat (the Dutch Ministry of Infrastructure and Water Management), the Dutch National police, the Dutch ANSP: LVNL, the Port of Rotterdam and NLR (Dutch Aerospace Centre) to the Ayalon Highways Control Centre in Haifa  - the commercial arm of the ministry of transportation of Israel. The visit aimed to facilitate knowledge exchange and the progression of the use of drone U-space in smart cities. The trip was organised by Airwayz and the Port of Rotterdam following the prototype U-space established at the port towards the end of 2022.

During the visit, the Dutch delegation learned more about Ayalon Highways’ pioneering National Drones Initiative (INDI) and saw a test mission from the control centre. The group also explored ‘U-space’, an emerging concept that aims to provide a safe and secure environment for drone operations in urban areas, and how this can aid smart cities in addressing urban challenges such as traffic congestion, emergency response, and environmental monitoring, and allow busy communities such as ports to enable commercial drone services. Over the last two days, the Dutch delegation also met with their Israeli peers and were introduced to some of Israel’s most progressive technology by the Israel Export Institute. A networking event was organized by the innovation attaché of the Netherlands Embassy in Israel, aimed at following up on the meetings taking place in Israel as well as introducing more Israeli companies to the NL airspace management and drone sector.

Airwayz has been working closely with government agencies and industry stakeholders to demonstrate safe and efficient drone operations and progress regulatory policies and standards. As such, the company was invited to host this delegation from the Netherlands and facilitate discussions around the latest developments in drone technology. Through collaborations like this one, Airwayz continues to drive innovation and shape the future of the drone industry.

"We are thrilled to have had the opportunity to host this delegation in Israel," says Eyal Zor, CEO of Airwayz. "The sharing of knowledge and expertise is essential to the advancement of the drone industry and we are excited to be at the forefront of this effort."

Airwayz UTM/USSP coordinates and monitors fleets of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) dynamically in real-time using proprietary AI technology, ensuring safety and efficiency across very low-level airspace for commercial drone activities. Its cutting-edge drone management solutions have already been piloted in several countries. This visit from the Dutch delegation is just one example of Airwayz’ commitment to promoting knowledge exchange and collaboration in the drone industry.
