Are you ready for ICAO 2012 flight plan changes?

The amendments to flight plan content announced by ICAO for worldwide implementation in November 2012 go to the very core of flight plan processing.
This module provides a detailed description of the modifications to data exchange and to the procedures affecting flight planning systems (encompassing the flight plan message but also the associated messages) as a result of the ICAO 2012 changes.

It provides a description of:

  • the new data items;
  • changes to existing items, and
  • a detailed description of the format or syntax of each item applicable as from 15 November 2012.
The Flight Plan Guide allows users to search for the correct format to be used for the different fields of the new ICAO Flight Plan via a database. The result will present the correct syntax, description, remarks, linked fields and possible IFPS errors for each item. The current version of this Guide dedicated to the European flight planning system (IFPS) focuses on the fields impacted by the ICAO 2012 modifications (10a,10b and 18).

Note:

The Flight Plan Guide is part of the e-learning module "ICAO 2012 flight planning modifications"(Code NMO_FPL2012). However, it is also accessible directly via the e-learning module "ICAO 2012 Flight Plan Guide" (Code NMP_FPL).
The Guide can also be saved on your mobile. The Beta version is available under http://contentzone.eurocontrol.int/fplm/.
