Aveillant’s Holographic RadarTM achieves successful integration with Thales STAR 2000 Radar
Aveillant’s 3D Holographic Radar™ has been installed at a site on the Kent coast and was successful in mitigating the offshore Kentish Flats windfarm. The system was also integrated with a Thales Star 2000 radar display system at a local airport, with the integration process taking just one day.
This demonstration of Holographic Radar™ to mitigate an offshore wind farm is the first to show an extended range version of the radar, part of Aveillant’s Product Roadmap.
The 30 turbines were over eight miles off the coast and the Holographic Radar™ successfully removed them from the ATC display as well as suppressing all sea clutter.
Gordon Oswald, Chief Technology Officer at Aveillant, said: “Our system is now proven to mitigate successfully over both onshore and offshore wind farms. It can be set up rapidly and has now been shown to successfully integrate with both video and plot extracted radars due to its extremely high update rate and 3D capability. It is unlike any other radar solution on the market”
