CANSO CEO Conference & AGM Aims to 'Navigate to Better Times'
CANSO, the Global Voice of ATM, is preparing to navigate to better times at its 13th AGM & CEO Conference in San Diego June 21-24.
This unique summit of the global leaders of Air Traffic Management will draw together expertise from around the world, said Alexander ter Kuile, Secretary General of CANSO. Our agenda will tackle the key issues, such as ANS financing, the future of cost recovery, and the development of new operational harmonisation and capability. We will also address important decisions regarding the governance and shape of our Association, to ensure that our programmes are reflecting the needs of the industry, and that we can lead the aviation community in navigating towards better times. The CEO Conference will begin with keynote speeches from the Chairman of the Association, Ashley Smout, and the COO of the FAA/ATO, Hank Krakowski. Guest speaker Ron Machado will set the tone for the day, while key speakers include Fariba Alamdari of Boeing, Jeff Poole of IATA, Greg Russell (CEO of Airservices Australia) Knut Skaar (CEO, ANS Division, Avinor AS) Marc Hamy (CEO, DSNA) Dieter Kaden (Chairman and CEO, DFS) and Eamonn Brennan (CEO, IAA). On day 2 a number of workshops will enable CEOs to explore crucial ATM issues in a hands-on environment, while a meeting of Operations Directors will set the agenda for future CANSO work on the harmonisation of global ATM. CANSO Chairman Ashley Smout said: I am looking forward to welcoming the worlds ATM leaders to San Diego. We have much to discuss but I am confident that our debates will be candid and illuminating. CANSOs role as the global voice of ATM means that it looks to this Global ATM Summit to set a strong lead for future Association activities. As we reach the half way point in our Imagine 2010 programme, the need for such future leadership is greater than ever. CANSO wishes to the thank Hank Krakowski and the FAA/ATO, for hosting CANSOs 13th AGM & CEO Conference.
