CANSO and SESAR Deployment Manager sign Declaration of Cooperation

Today, Tanja Grobotek, CANSO Director Europe Affairs, and Mariagrazia La Piscopia, Executive Director, SESAR Deployment Manager signed a Declaration of Cooperation to further strengthen their organisations’ common goal of improving ATM performance by modernising European ATM Network through SESAR.

The cooperation will ensure a close link between SESAR Deployment Manager and CANSO Europe, the voice of 35 European air navigation service providers (ANSPs), exchanging regularly on common strategic activities related to SESAR deployment, as well as co-operating on communication and advocacy activities on topics relevant to ATM modernisation through SESAR deployment.

Mariagrazia La Piscopia stated at the signature event: “The success of SESAR deployment is a collective responsibility of all ATM industry actors, among which ANSPs play a crucial role, as the final responsibility for investments lays with the operational stakeholders. As SESAR Deployment Manager, we stand ready in supporting the ANSPs towards a faster and syncronised implementation of SESAR deployment related projects”

Tanja Grobotek stated: “Our members are key partners in many SESAR projects and CANSO Europe is very supportive of the role of the Deployment Manager in ensuring that benefits are realised for the whole ATM network. We therefore welcome this Declaration of Cooperation and look forward working with SESAR Deployment Manager to promote its activities. SESAR is the basis for airspace modernisation and decarbonisation, and we look to EU policymakers to secure their future.”
