Cathay Pacific Selects DWI for RAIM Prediction

- UK.

DW International (DWI) is pleased to announce that Cathay Pacific Airways, Hong Kong’s premier airline, shall be using the GNSS RAIM Prediction Service (GRPS) to calculate the RAIM predictions required for its PBN operations. The GRPS allows operators to calculate RAIM predictions for all PBN navigation specification including RNP AR APCH operations down to 0.1NM.

Cathay Pacific will use the GRPS Scheduled version of the service which delivers a daily report of RAIM outages by email. The report lists aerodromes of interest to Cathay Pacific on its’ world-wide network and the predicted RAIM availability for the next 48 hours. The GRPS is especially key for Cathay Pacific's RNP AR APCH operations into New York - JFK and Newark – EWR airports.

"DWI has a range of delivery methods for RAIM Predictions and GRPS Scheduled has been designed specifically to deliver RAIM availability reports that dispatchers can easily examine and use," said John Wilde, CEO of DWI. "Where there is an aerodrome with a RAIM outage, this aerodrome is listed at the beginning of the report - it is shown front and centre rather than being buried for the dispatcher to find."

Captain Mark Hoey, Cathay Pacific General Manager Operations says, “The DWI GRPS has been easily integrated into the flight planning task and assists us to ensure the integrity of our RNP AR and GLS operations across our world-wide network.”
