LAP signed contract with German operator DFS Aviation Services to provide Apron Management Services at Lima Airport
- The selected company, DFS Aviation Services (DAS), will provide the Apron Management Services at Jorge Chávez International Airport in Lima from January 2023.
- This contract will promote a substantial improvement of the passenger experience, granting efficiency and flexibility in the operations and training Peruvian professionals in the sector.
Lima Airport Partners (LAP), concessionaire of the Jorge Chávez International Airport belonging to the Fraport Group, has selected DFS Aviation Services as a new operator in charge of the aircraft turnaround system on apron at the existing terminal.
After a competitive bidding process that began end of 2021, DFS Aviation Services was awarded and stood out for its experience in the sector, technical capacity, international performance in many airports worldwide, as well extensive knowledge and contribution in the aviation sector.
The service consists of take over the services from the currently provider CORPAC, working together in a smooth transition. The apron control manages the air traffic on the aprons of the airport and allocates the aircrafts to their parking positions.
By the opening of the new terminal in 2025, DFS Aviation Services will switch the Apron Management Services from conventional to remote services, this means that the Airport Management System will be provided remotely through innovative camera technology from an operational room in the new terminal area.

The DFS Group provides apron management services at 20 airports in Europe, in central hubs like Berlin and Munich, has over than 65 years of experience in air navigation services and currently provides its customers with terminal services at 27 airports in Germany and abroad.

The administrative and operational staff will be based at the airport in Lima, including Peruvian professionals, apron officers who will receive a training of 5 months consisting of theoretical and practical training before the operations start. This is an important opportunity to develop the sector by training Peruvians personnel.
