DWI supplies RNAV Validation Tool (RVT) to Emirates Airlines
DWI is pleased to announce that its RNAV Validation Tool (RVT) is to be supplied to Emirates airlines, based in Dubai UAE. The RVT is a desktop application to help procedure designers in the ground validation of new or modified RNAV SIDs and STARs. Ground validation is a key step between the design and the implementation of RNAV procedures.
In addition, Emirates shall be adopting the Procedure Evaluation App,one of the suite of bolt-on applications available via the Enhanced RNAV Validation Tool (RVTe). This application allows procedure designers to pinpoint optimum procedures and to assess the feasibility of implementing an approach at the draft stage, thus avoiding the costly and time-consuming creation of trial and error SIDs and STARs using a procedure design tool. "RVT is the ideal tool for ground validation," said John Wilde, CEO.
"It's simply easier and cheaper to perform such iterative validation using a desktop application rather than using a simulator. RVT is perfectly suited for a forward looking operator like Emirates."
