ENAIRE presents its GammaSimVR air control simulator at the Mobile World Congress

ENAIRE, the national air navigation service provider, presents the GammaSim virtual reality simulator at the Mobile World Congress, on 4 and 5 March in Barcelona.
GammaSim is an air traffic control simulator with a 3D visual environment for towers that also offers the option to implement en route and approach scenarios. Designed by ENAIRE, and thanks to the experience and input of controllers, engineers and pseudo-pilots, it has achieved a high level of realism that makes it an alternative for air traffic control (ATC) training at ENAIRE. Moreover, due to its flexibility, it has also been used to simulate new scenarios, remote control towers, tests of drone operating environments, etc.
Its latest version, GammaSim VR (for virtual reality), substantially increases realism and will open up new possibilities in simulations.
The main advantages of this virtual reality tool are its realism, immersiveness, remote connectivity and as in all versions of GammaSim, its ease of use. Its new features include: views from inside aircraft and panoramic views from multiple external and internal points, or the option to connect several teams to the same exercise, seeing the avatars of all the participants in the simulation to make the interaction even more realistic.
Currently, GammaSim is used as a simulator to conduct all the training on air traffic control at airports (emergencies, standard procedures, unusual situations, low visibility, etc.), as well as a support tool when designing new functions, airspace procedures and scenarios. It is flexible and easy to use to optimise the design of new functionalities and to train the controllers who will use them.
