About our speaker: Mr. Ken Engelstad

Mr. Ken Engelstad has a degree in international and European law. Before joining EASA in 2008, he worked at the Belgian air navigation service provider (skeyes) focusing on the Single European Sky legislation. At EASA, he started as a rulemaking officer in the air operations section, then worked as an ATM/ANS rulemaking officer/expert. Since 1 April 2020, he joined the drone section as project manager drones, and acts as a focal point for the development of the U-space regulatory framework.

Mr. Roger Li is the UTM (Unmanned Aircraft Systems) Manager at LFV (the Swedish Air Navigation Service Provider). He has a Master of Science in Communication and Transport Systems Engineering from Linköping University. Additionally, he has approximately twenty years of work experience in aviation, ranging from R&D on aviation data link applications, standardisation, project management, leading positions in Aeronautical Information Management (AIM) and now UTM.

Mr. Edward Fullerton is an ATSEP Training Specialist at Entry Point North with over 20 years of experience from all over the world. Edward spent his early years learning his profession in the UK Royal Air Force, before moving into Civil Aviation. He has worked at major Airports, notably in London & Dubai, as well as on many contracts in Asia, Africa, and Europe.
Ms. Caroline Schmeits is Chief Operating Office at IBG (Independent Business Group Consulting). Previously, Caroline worked at EUROCONTROL where she provided operational expertise in the area of Airport Collaborative Decision Making (A-CDM), and at Aviapartner where she had full responsibility for flight operations at Brussels Airport.

Mr. Palle Gericke is Chairman of the COOPANS Improvement Group at Naviair. He has more than 40 years of experience within ATM, among other roles as an Air Traffic Controller. Additionally, he has a master degree in “Innovation & Management of Technology”, DTU, USF, Berkeley, Oxford.
Mr. Erik Langevi is an Air Traffic Controller and Senior ATM Expert at Naviair, as well as COOPANS PoC in SESAR Virtual Center activities, and Validation leader and Project Manager in COOPANS/SESAR.

ATSEP training from a national regulator perspective

This webinar details the two phases the Belgian NSA has been carrying out when assessing service providers concerning ATSEP training and competences. These phases are the Implementation phase and the Audit Phase. Additionally, difficult points raised during the verification of the requirements will be addressed. About our speaker: Mr Eli Belinga Bomba

With an engineering background, Mr. Eli Belinga Bomba, has been working for more than 10 years in the Airport Department of the Belgian CAA where he was involved in 2 types of tasks: regulatory development (European and national level), and cerfitication and oversight. In 2019, he joined the Belgian NSA where his main tasks are the certification, the oversight and enforcement of ANSPs (skeyes, MUAC, ANSPs within FABEC). Additionally, he is in charge of the Interoperability requirements, the monitoring of skeyes ATC units rosters, and of the ATSEP training requirements. It is in the frame of this last responsibility that he will give the webinar on ATSEP training.
