Era Selected for ADS-B and Multilateration System in Estonia
Era Systems Corporation, a subsidiary of SRA International, Inc. (NYSE: SRX) has been selected by Estonian Air Navigation Service (ANS) for a surface ADS-B and multilateration surveillance solution at the Tallinn Airport, Estonias gateway airport.
In order to cope with increasing airport operations over the past several years, Estonian ANS launched the Tallinn Tower Modernization Project to enhance capacity, increase ground safety and improve overall services. As part of this project, Estonian ANS sought world-leading next generation technologies to upgrade their existing air traffic management system and chose Eras surface surveillance technology featuring its MSSSM surveillance system and SquidSM vehicle tracking units.
Eras solution will provide air traffic controllers with complete surface situational awareness in all climatic conditions. The system will be integrated into an advanced-surface movement guidance and control system (A-SMGCS) provided by AviBit, the prime on the contract.
Throughout the past year, we have seen a large rise in airports upgrading their air traffic management systems to include our next generation surveillance capabilities, said Vice President of Eras Air Traffic Management business Russell Hulstrom. MSS and Squid provide unmatched accuracy and reliability and we are thrilled that ANSPs like Estonian ANS are placing their confidence in our products and solutions.
