FABEC at ATCA Annual Sharing expertise to ensure safety in aviation

- Washington D.C, USA.

On invitation by ATCA, Michiel van Dorst, Chairman of the FABEC CEO board and CEO of Air Traffic Control the Netherlands is joining the ATCA Annual Conference on 21 October 2019 in Washington to share insights in the current debate on Just Culture – one of the key pillars of European ATM safety culture. Based on real-life examples Michiel van Dorst will provide topical insights into the ongoing debate over how to create a reliable safety culture; viewed from a managerial perspective as well as within the context of the broader legal and social framework.

“Just Culture is the cornerstone of a safe operating environment and is critical to not only safe flight, but an engaged and committed workforce,” ATCA President and CEO Peter F. Dumont said. “Michiel’s presentation is an important piece in the larger conversation on collaboration between the operators, airspace users, and ANSPs around the world.”

“It’s an honor to be at ATCA Annual 2019,” said Michiel van Dorst, Chairman FABEC CEO board and CEO Air Traffic Control the Netherlands, “especially as the topic, Just Culture and safety is close to my heart. I belief Just Culture is a key factor to further increase safety in our operational environment. It requires not only leadership and broad commitment within the ATC organization, but also engaging the external world as this greatly influences the Just Culture Climate”.

The partnership between ATCA and FABEC has grown deeper and stronger in recent years. Both parties work tirelessly on topics which affect the industry, and the exchanges which take place at the ATCA Annual and World ATM Congress provide valuable input to industry development.
