This undertaking required the introduction of a new sector Al Ain approach and the modification of the presentation of flight plans in order to reflect the requirements of the armed forces.

Software extensions include a comprehensive adaption of safety nets incorporating the new approach and extra features such as alternate SSR codes, and flight plan splits.
As for controllers all new features and procedures can be practised at GCAAs state-of-the-art training facility, which is a replica of the operational PRISMA ATM automation solution, and was established at the Sheikh Zayed Centre premises in 2009.
