Harris Corporation to Modernize Air Traffic Control Systems for 22 Airports in Colombia

Harris Corporation has been awarded a contract to supply critical air traffic control communications to 22 airports in Colombia.

Harris will supply its Liberty-STAR™ Voice Communication and Control System (VCCS), to the various sites located across the country.

Liberty-STAR VCCS features a modular architecture, open-platform software and commercial-off-the-shelf hardware that delivers a reliable, scalable communications solution for ATC towers, airline and area control dispatch, flight service stations, and mobile shelters. The systems will be equipped with touch-screen operator positions, radio interfaces, telephone interfaces, and a System Maintenance, Administration and Reconfiguration Terminal (SMART) POSITION™.

This contract represents Harris’ eleventh in Colombia and latest in the South American region having already supplied communications systems to a host of countries including Uruguay, Chile, Ecuador, Argentina and Brazil.
