The SOFIAXL Consortium will comprise of Indra (Spain) and its subsidiary Avitech (Germany), leading manufacturers of air navigation equipment, and air navigation service providers (ANSPs) of Lithuania (Oro vavigacija), Poland (PANSA) and Ukraine (UkSATSE).
The goal of the Consortium is to provide CS4-AFUAS System and Service for European ATM in response to the tender on the provision of the centralized service on Flexible Use of Airspace for the EUROCONTROL Member States.
SOFIAXL Consortium Members will run the project, provide the CS4-AFUA System Demonstrator and, in Phase 2 (2017+), provide the CS4-AFUA Service for users connected to this Centralised Service.
The CS4-AFUAS will allow all its users, both civil and military, to maximum efficiently use the European airspace potential as well as reduce infrastructure costs. This will enhance safety and efficiency of flights in the European sky. CS4 is one of the nine most top-priority centralized services identified by EUROCONTROL and the first service for which the tender is held.
The successful tenderer is planned to be awarded the Contract on CS4-AFUAS provision in June 2015 and the first phase which contains system development will proceed for approximately 2 years.
The World ATM Congress is an annual event organized by CANSO in association with ATCA, combining major exhibitions, world-class conferences and an excellent network of opportunities for learning about new developments and trends in air traffic management.
