King Abdulaziz International Airport to Source Technology and Construction Materials at Upcoming Airport Show 2011 in Dubai

REED Exhibitions Middle East, one of the leading organisers of trade and consumer exhibitions, today announced King Abdulaziz International Airport (KAIA) will aim to source state-of-the-art technology and construction materials at the upcoming Airport Show 2011 in Dubai.
The announcement comes on the back of KAIAs estimated spending of US$11.3 billion towards its expansion that will extend the current size of the airport by 687000 sq. meters and include two new terminals for international and domestic passengers.

Held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Ahmed Bin Saeed Al Maktoum, President of Dubai Civil Aviation Authority, Chairman of Dubai Airports and Chairman and CEO of Emirates Airline and Group, the Airport Show is dedicated to airport construction, operations, technology and services. The 11th edition of the event will be held from 31 May-2 June at Airport Expo in Dubai.

Mohamad Bader-Eddin, Show Director, REED Exhibitions Middle East, said: Airport Show each year serves as the perfect catalyst for networking in the Middle East to source the latest state-of-the-art technology and infrastructure in airport constructions. This is clearly visible with the participation of strategic projects such as the King Abdulaziz International Airport. Their participation as a key potential buyer will go a long way in facilitating trade in the region. We are also confident that exhibitors and KAIA will significantly benefit through this participation".

Complementing KAIAs presence, we also have King Khaled Airport from Saudi Arabia participating as a hosted buyer. In a marked shift from previous editions of the event, this year the Airport Show is witnessing a surge of interest from potential buyers in Saudi Arabia. Both airports are looking to source a huge bulk of their expansion technology and construction materials at the event, opening up huge opportunities for our exhibitors.

King Abdulaziz International Airports expansion plans also include other utilities such as 54 counters, passenger lounges, a new concourse building with 25 additional passenger bridges and connector buildings linking the terminals, as well as air bridges (contact stands) and movable gates to service the new terminals.

With the momentum gathering for Airport Show 2011, it has already drawn the confirmed participation of an impressive list of airport projects including Fujairah International Airport, Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh (CAAB) Djibouti International Airport, Feeder Airlines (Sudan), Ras Al Khaimah Airport, Tunisia Airport, Sialkot International Airport Ltd., Maharashtra Airport Development Co. Ltd. (MADC), Qeshm International Airport and Oman Airports Management Company.

Airport Show 2011 will offer a combination of high quality networking and business development opportunities through a series of roundtable discussions, innovation and project seminars. In addition, a hosted buyer programme will serve as one of the highlights of the event.
