Maestro AMAN goes live in Perth
The Thales Maestro is one of the world’s most advanced Arrival/Departure Manager (AMAN/DMAN) solutions for Collaborative Surface management. With this go live, Perth, Australia’s 4th airport will be equipped with the Arrival Manager (AMAN). The airport will now therefore benefit from the optimum utilisation of airspace and runway capacity, minimised delays, reduction in controller workloads and optimised arrival processes enjoyed across 28 airports worldwide, including for traffic between Sydney and Melbourne airports, the 5th busiest route and approach segment between two airports in the world. The implementation phase lasted seven months, making this the world’s fastest ever contract fulfilment for this type of system. This reinforces the collaboration between Australian ANSP, Air Services Australia and Thales.
This contract also marks a milestone for Thales as it is the first Maestro contract implemented after the acquisition of the ITS activities from Egis Avia last year. The addition of these capabilities has been instrumental for Thales’s development in this domain and the Perth contract is further proof of the success of the acquisition.
