Metron Aviation President Monte Belger Awarded Glen A. Gilbert Award
Metron Aviation Leadership is Guiding the Future of Air Traffic Management
Metron Aviation President Monte Belger will be awarded the Glen A. Gilbert Award at the Air Traffic Control Association’s (ATCA) 59th Annual Conference and Exhibition which will take place this week in National Harbor, MD. The award honors an individual’s lifelong achievements in the field of aviation in memory of one of the “Fathers of Air Traffic Control.”
Belger, one of the foremost authorities on air traffic management (ATM), joined Metron Aviation in 2011 following a 30-year career with the Federal Aviation Administration. There, he served as acting administrator and acting deputy administrator. In his current role, Belger oversees all aspects of Metron Aviation’s day-to-day business.
“Belger is a statesman whose knowledge and expertise is guiding Metron Aviation from its startup foundation to a leading organization at the forefront of air traffic management innovation,” says Buzz Campo, Metron Aviation’s Senior Vice President of Advanced Research & Development and General Manager, who leads the public sector business unit. Campo and the rest of the leadership team will be present throughout the conference and welcome attendees to booth 109 to learn more about Metron Aviation, Inc., its leadership team and its vision for the future of the industry. Metron Aviation is part of Airbus Prosky, Airbus’ air traffic management subsidiary.
In addition to Belger and Campo, attendees will have the opportunity to meet the rest of the Metron Aviation leadership team at ATCA. This includes Alan Bloodgood, Senior Vice President of Commercial Product and Services, who leads the private sector business; Carol Huegel, Senior Vice President of Business Development; Rick Ducharme, Executive Vice President of ATM Industry Affairs and Paul-Franck Bijou, chief executive officer of Airbus ProSky.
“It is a privilege to work with such a talented and knowledgeable team,” said Bijou, who recently relocated to Metron Aviation’s Dulles, Virginia offices and oversees the Group’s activities worldwide. He said, “Belger is well-deserving of this recognition. Through example, he shows our team what it means to be a dedicated and passionate leader who is continuously striving to provide the industry with efficient, sustainable and innovative solutions. We are extremely proud of his accomplishment and look
forward to celebrating with everyone at ATCA.”
