Saab awards Air Traffic Control Tower Simulator contract to Micro Nav Limited
Saab has been selected by Taiwan Air Navigation and Weather Services (ANWS) to integrate a simulation capability with Saab Integrated ATC Suite (I-ATS) which is currently installed at Taipei Taoyuan Airport.
Saab has contracted Micro Nav Limited (Micro Nav) to provide the 360° 3D Air Traffic Control (ATC) tower simulator for ANWS including hardware, software and training.
This solution will provide the capability to perform ATC tower controller training on the I-ATS controller working positions, while presenting the BEST out the window tower view. BEST provides simulated traffic, while enabling pseudo pilots the ability to control aircraft or ground vehicles.
The BEST tower simulator due to be installed at Taipei Taoyuan Airport is an advanced stimulation system and immersive validation environment and training platform. Comprised of the latest Micro Nav Visual Display System, with its Glass Reinforced Plastic (GRP) screen, and award-winning Automatic Display Alignment System (ADAS), with split mode display operations and enhanced viewing capability, to complete the 360° 3D ATC tower environment. The BEST tower simulator for Taipei Taoyuan Airport includes BEST Link interface management positions for stimulation of multiple circuits, plus BEST Tower, BEST 3D and BEST 3D Create.

The contract represents further endorsement of the Micro Nav BEST single solution product plus a stimulated environment, which will further improve training and safety for the Taiwan ANWS. The award is further expansion for Micro Nav in the Asia Pacific region and a first collaboration for Micro Nav and Saab, using the Integrated ATC Suite.”
