NATS at Airspace World 2023

- London, U.K.

NATS will be a major supporter of the inaugural CANSO Airspace World conference and exhibition in Geneva on 8 -10 March, as the industry looks to tackle shared challenges.

On stand H15 NATS will be demonstrating solutions and technologies designed to deliver airport capacity, operational resilience, and environmental sustainability as well as showcasing the latest thinking on the integration of new airspace users.

Martin Rolfe, NATS Chief Executive Officer, said: “This is an exciting period of renewal for our industry following the impact of the Covid pandemic and Airspace World is an invaluable chance for us to come together and discuss shared priorities. From new airspace users to delivering a truly sustainable future, there is a lot to cover. It’s also an opportunity to showcase the latest projects and innovations NATS has delivered with our customers and partners around the world.”

  • Enabling ‘Beyond Visual Line of Sight’ (BVLOS) operations is vital to the growth of uncrewed aviation. Developed by NATS and members of the UK BVLOS Forum, a ground-breaking White Paper sets out the regulatory developments needed for the industry to reach the next phase of development. NATS will also be demonstrating its concept for a ‘master control room’, for the seamless integration of both new and conventional airspace users in the Wing Theatre at 12.30 on 8 March.
  • Together with Searidge Technologies, NATS will be demonstrating how digital tower technology can scale from the smallest to the largest airports. The ‘Hybrid Tower’ – where digital technology is brought into an airport’s existing physical tower - will be the subject of NATS Chief Solutions Officer, Andy Taylor’s presentation in the Frequentis Theatre at 12.30 on 10 March.
  • Now deployed at Toronto Pearson and Heathrow, Intelligent Approach allows airports to optimise runway capacity, deliver better on-time performance and reduce CO2 emissions per-flight. Developed by NATS and Leidos UK, Intelligent Approachdelivers more aircraft movements per hour, with no ground-based investment required. NATS and NAV CANADA will be offering an insight into the Toronto Pearson deployment.
  • NATS and Frequentis Orthogon will be showcasing Demand Capacity Balancer (DCB). Using powerful analytics, DCB creates a ‘digital twin’ of an airport, allowing operators to model, and mitigate the effects of disruption. The tool played a hugely significant role in the operational planning for the funeral of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. Attendees can hear the inside story in the FABEC Ops Theatre at 11am on 10 March.
