NATS at the World ATM Congress 2022
NATS will be a major supporter of the World ATM Congress in Madrid on 21-23 June as the industry continues to recovery from the impact of the Covid pandemic.
On stand 828, NATS will be showcasing tools and technologies designed to deliver airport capacity, operational resilience, and environmental sustainability at a fraction of the cost of ground-based infrastructure projects.
With traffic levels returning to pre-pandemic levels, being able to accurately model future demand, maximise runway efficiency and enhance the capability of existing airport infrastructure will be vital during what remains an unpredictable recovery.
Together with industry leaders, Searidge Technologies, NATS has reimagined the concept of the Digital Tower, arriving at five operational models that cover everything from traditional ‘remote tower’ operations through to hybrid deployments and hub scale contingency facilities.
Recently deployed at Toronto Pearson, Intelligent Approach, the arrivals spacing tool developed by NATS and Leidos, allows airports to safely optimise runway capacity, improve operational resilience, deliver better on-time performance and reduce CO2 emissions. Intelligent Approach delivers more aircraft movements per hour, with no ground-based investment required.
NATS and Frequentis Orthogon will be showcasing Demand Capacity Balancer (DCB). Using powerful analytics, DCB creates a ‘digital twin’ of an airport, allowing operators to model, and mitigate the effects of disruption. DCB bridges the gap between strategic, pre-tactical and tactical planning, helping improve resilience and allowing airports to make the most of their available assets and move from coping to control.
Those not able to attend in person will also be able to book a free virtual consultation with a NATS expert to discuss their capacity, resilience or environmental sustainability needs.
