The latest on air transport trends:
- There were 0.4% more European flights in August compared with the same month last year; this is the first real growth since October 2011. Preliminary data for September show a 0.6% increase in traffic compared with September 2012.
- IATA expects European airlines to record profits of €1.3 billion in 2013; this could almost double in 2014 to €2.3 billion.
- Oil prices held steady at €83 per barrel in September.
