Royal Visitors at AVTECH
On May 28, 2010 AVTECH had noble visitors at the headquarters in Österåker, Sweden.
Only a few get the honor to get a Royal visit, the King and Queen once a year makes a visit to a municipality in the Stockholm region. This year AVTECH was chosen as a high tech company to visit for its work with innovative technology for environment.
The Royal visit to AVTECH included the King and Queen of Sweden, the Governor of Stockholm and his wife, the Municipality Mayor among others studying the technology and innovations for environmental sustainability of aviation.
As a sign of the international importance of the topic of the day the Royal Highnesses were welcomed in Swedish by AVTECHs new American CEO continuing on English addressing that he saw Swedens positive international reputation of caring for the Environment much because of His Majesty, the Environmental King.
Captain Christer Staaf, owner and Board Member, continued to introduce challenges for aviation and outlining the AVTECH concepts of Integrated Digital Air Traffic Management as the solution. The King showed a good understanding of the topics and gave Christer Staaf several intricate questions that Christer had to answer with knowledge and including his experience as an Airline Captain.
Lars GV Lindberg, majority owner and President of the Board, lead the Royal contingent inside to the AVTECH simulation facilities. The King was in the Captains seat of a Boeing 737 with Christer Staaf as his co-pilot, demonstrating the future of integrated Air Traffic Management connected with a EUROCONTROL ground system research platform. It was actively discussed how to introduce new concepts, current research and development initiatives and the European and global perspective on environment with focus on reduction in emissions and improved predictability.
Engineers Serdar Akalinli and Tomas Paal demonstrated the key AVTECH products that enable the efficient and environmental operation, such as the Aventus NowCast wind uplink system.
AVTECHs Think Thank was introduced to the King and the Queen by AVTECH previous CEO Anders Palm. The Think Tank is where the innovations of the future are born and nursed out of childhood by young international researchers exploring solutions and products for the future.
More than ten years of investment in R&D products have been undertaken and are currently starting to get to the market. AVTECH is still 100% owned by people active in the company with an expansion forward foreseen with external capital.
Dialogues are ongoing with large multinational companies while not closing the door to national or Nordic business angel capital.
The owners look forward to an expansion in Österåker, Sweden as well as Toulouse, France and a positive market outlook in the US, Middle East, Australia and Europe.
