Schmid Voice Communication System for Mumbai and Delhi

The contract with Airports Authority of India (AAI) was signed in January 2008 and includes 2 complete ICS Sky Voice Communication Systems for large ATC Centers, each with 100 operator positions, 100 radio lines and 200 telephone lines. The new Schmid Telecom VCS will cover the needs of the Area Control Center (ACC), Tower (TWR), Approach (APP), Simulator Installation, HF Radio Transmission-, Briefing- and Anti-Hijacking Rooms. Seamless and fast upgrade This project is part of the modernization, expansion and modification plan of AAI, to gear up the two busiest airports in India as to meet the demand of the rapidly growing air traffic. ICS Sky will enable both Delhi and Mumbai ATC to seamlessly upgrade its voice communication infrastructure in the shortest possible time. The Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) of the 2 systems was successfully concluded in March 2008 in Zurich, therefore less than 3 months after contract signature, which is a true performance considering the size and complexity of the systems.
