StarCaster D-ATIS Delivered to Airbus to Support ATC Operations in Germany
IBS Luftfahrt und Service GmbH (IBS) and STR-SpeechTech Ltd. (STR) have completed the delivery, installation and commissioning of a Global Reporting Format (GRF) compliant StarCaster D-ATIS system for Airbus at Hamburg Finkenwerder Airport (EDHI), Germany.
Building upon prior project stages, completion of this latest milestone signifies the successful modernization of the D-ATIS infrastructure at Hamburg Finkenwerder Airport (EDHI). During this stage IBS and STR worked together to efficiently deliver comprehensive installation services, acceptance testing and training to Airbus directly onsite at EDHI. Furthermore, system delivery to Airbus included the StarCaster Maintenance Program which will support Airbus’ long-term operational requirements and ensure continued industry regulatory compliance.
The newly operational StarCaster D-ATIS system at Hamburg Finkenwerder Airport (EDHI) consists of a fully redundant StarCaster D-ATIS system designed for Operational, Technical, Administrative and Maintenance users to provide and manage ATIS operations. Air traffic controllers can create, edit and approve ATIS messages consisting of the current weather, runway condition report and airport operational information for broadcast to VHF transmitters in ED-137B compliant VoIP. StarCaster is interfaced with Airbus’ AWOS system at EDHI via TCP/IP to continuously receive the latest weather observations and system users access StarCaster’s feature-rich Human Machine Interface (HMI) via a common web-browser over secured internet connection.
“STR is proud to have successfully deployed our latest version of StarCaster D-ATIS in Germany” said Joe McNally, CEO of STR-SpeechTech. “Deployment of our D-ATIS technical solution has been made possible by the strong relationships that exist with our project partners Airbus and IBS, and we would like to express our appreciation for their project support.”.
