- Surrey, UK

Systems Interface, based in the UK, has been awarded a contract by Jersey Airport for the replacement of an en-route Doppler VHF Omnidirectional Radio Range (DVOR) and Distance Measuring Equipment (DME).

The contract will see the supply, installation and commissioning of the latest Indra Navia DVOR/DME complete with full remote control and monitoring along with the refurbishment of the existing Counterpoise and replacement of the equipment shelter.

Systems Interface will manage all aspects of the complex turnkey project which will deliver the equipment complete with Safety Case and Flight inspection.

This contract, following close on the heels of the recent awards to supply and install Indra Navia DVOR’s to Hambantota International Airport, Sri Lanka and Kopitnari International Airport, Georgia demonstrates their experience and ability to deliver complex projects worldwide.

About Jersey Airport

Jersey Airport manages approximately 45,000 movements annually to the benefit of 1.4 million passengers.

The DVOR/DME is an important part of the airport’s navigational aid replacement programme and will serve as the Island’s principal en-route navigational aid as the industry transitions to satellite based RNP.

In addition to the en-route element, Jersey Airport intends to ensure that localised instrument approaches to the runway continue to be supported through the delivery of this contract.
