Systems Interface install four ATIS Systems at Airports in Central Asia
Systems Interface (SIL), based in the United Kingdom, has completed a Turnkey contract to supply, install and commission four ATIS systems at four airports in a central Asian state.
The Turnkey contract, in cooperation with SIL’s key supplier Copperchase, was delivered on-time and in budget by SIL engineers over a three-week period. The contract was project managed by SIL throughout, including training for local engineers and Air Traffic Controllers.
This state-of-the-art equipment provides a cost effective and reliable automated system for the country’s Air Navigation Service Provider. It is designed to provide automated delivery of meteorological and operational aerodrome information to arriving and departing aircraft, as well as current and forecast weather at alternative aerodromes.
The system is designed to integrate with ED-137 standard VoIP (Voice Over IP) radios and has the potential to be upgraded to include a D-ATIS (Digital - Automatic Terminal Information System).
