Systems Interface light up Oxford hospital helipad
Systems Interface was awarded the contract by FAUN Trackway® to install helipad lighting and an internally illuminated Helipad Windsock at the John Radcliffe Hospital, Oxford.
With essential maintenance work being carried out to the Hospital West Wing building’s exterior over the next two years their existing helipad will be temporarily unserviceable due to its proximity to the works. To maintain this vital lifeline a suitable location within the hospital grounds was identified to accommodate the Thames Valley Air Ambulance Airbus H135 helicopter.
FAUN Trackway® deployed their military grade aluminium 20m x 20m helicopter landing pad and 60m of vehicle access track and Systems Interface installed surface mount helipad lighting and an Internally illuminated windsock in just under 5 days.
The helipad went fully operational on 26 March.
The Helipad is designed to have minimum environmental impact on the site and when decommissioned in two years the area will quickly return to parkland.
