Systems Interface to install a new Distance Measuring Equipment (DME) system at Ireland West Knock Airport
Systems Interface, based in the UK, has been contracted by Principal Contractor Tiernan Engineering to supply, install and commission a replacement Distance Measuring Equipment (DME) system with full remote control and monitoring and remote maintenance for their client Ireland West Knock Airport.
Systems Interface (SIL) will replace the existing end-of-life equipment with a Normarc Dual 100W Low Power DME, a replacement Mast and Antenna along with a new Prefabricated Fibreglass Equipment shelter.
SIL’s installation and commissioning service includes full project management and ground-based flight check support. SIL will also provide the DME Safety Case to facilitate the approval of the new system by the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) and the Irish Aviation Authority (IAA).
