Thales provides a new Integrated Briefing System at Schiphol International Airport
Air Traffic Control The Netherlands (ATC-NL), the national Air Navigation Service Provider, awarded Thales a contract for the supply of a new Integrated Briefing System for pilots to be installed at the Amsterdam headquarters.
Under the terms of the contract, ATC-NL Flight Service Centre will be able to offer pilots a direct Internet access to Flight Plans and Briefing functionalities. This new system is designed specifically to ensure flight data integrity and availability.
It will help Dutch operators provide pilots with critical information in a reliable way, while securing traffic safety through the Amsterdam Flight Information Region (FIR).
Rémi Gille, Managing Director Thales Air Systems Customer Service said: ATC-NL will now benefit from a fully proven system that has demonstrated its operational capabilities in Austria, Germany, the United Kingdom and South Africa. Compliant with international standards, the Flight Service Centre will be fully interoperable with the European Aeronautical Information Services Database (EAD) and EUROCONTROLs Integrated initial Flight Plan Service (IFPS).
