UFA’s Air Traffic Control Simulation Products Selected by Fort Huachuca
UFA, Inc. (UFA), a leading provider of Air Traffic Simulation and Voice Technologies, announced that it has delivered its ATTower® Tower Simulator to Fort Huachuca’s Libby Army Airfield. UFA was awarded the contract with Fort Huachuca in December 2017 via a competitive selection process. Subsequently, UFA received an order to upgrade the visual system to a 7-channel configuration.
UFA delivered a turn key 4-channel ATTower Simulator, complete with the local Libby Army Airfield airport visual database and five (5) additional airport visual databases from UFA’s extensive library. In addition to supporting Tower training, the included Fixed Based Precision Approach Radar (FBPAR) Training System allows independent Ground Control Approach training or combined training with the Tower positions. The system includes UFA’s industry leading ATVoice® Voice Recognition system and ATView® Image Generator and can integrate with other aviation and ATC simulation platforms. The ability to integrate will allow Libby ATC to conduct comprehensive collective training.
Libby Army Airfield is unique to the U.S Army as it serves a joint mission between civil and military customers and functions as the preeminent Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS) testing and training center for the U.S. Army. Integration between manned and unmanned systems presents special training requirements in the certification of Air Traffic Controllers. The simulator at Libby Army Airfield supports the full range of these special requirements and will be a powerful training tool for both civilian and military operations.
