As part of their pre-deployment activities, the TX ARNG, augmented with soldiers from the MA ARNG’s F Company, 3/126th ATS trained on their UFA ATTower Simulator and ATCoach Radar Simulators. The ATTower Simulator provides high fidelity airport 3D visuals, controller tools, and voice communications capability including the Army Airfield where they will deploy. Controllers train on the system using UFA’s industry leading ATVoice voice recognition and response feature.

The ATCoach Radar Simulator provides a realistic replication of the AN/TPN-31 Air Traffic Navigation, Integration, and Coordination System (ATNAVICS) and is also operated using voice recognition.

The ARNG ATC units have been training on UFA Simulators since 2002. They currently operate 31 accredited simulators that are supported by UFA. These simulators include fixed base configurations and ruggedized versions for use during periods of deployment. The ARNG simulators are common with other systems provided by UFA to the US Army and used at the Army ATC Schoolhouse at Ft. Rucker, Alabama.
