World Space Summit will take place during the Airspace Integration Week in Madrid from 25th till 28th September 2023 hosted by Expodrónica & Air Traffic Control Association (ATCA)
Airspace Integration Week Madrid will convert Madrid into the only setting where all stakeholders and organizations called to share the Uspace coexist - ATM, UTM and Space and are integrated into the- thanks to the World Space Summit promoted by Expodrónica & Air Traffic Control Association (ATCA) and the collaboration of AEDAE (Asociación Española de Derecho Aeronáutico y Espacial).
So that, Madrid will host the World Space Summit (WOSS) from 25th till 26th September 2023 at IFEMA and from 27th till 28th September 2023 at Cuatro Vientos Airport: a modern and integrative summit looking to connect key stakeholders, from governmental agencies to industrial organizations and professionals actively involved in developing solutions for space exploitation and exploration.
"Inner and outer space operations have been progressively increasing their relevance in the last decades for all humankind", assures Isabel Buatas, CEO at Expodronica.
"Security, communications, surveillance, sustainability, transportation, trade and even tourism; space provides a wide range of potential applications for both commercial and defense purposes", adds Isabel Buatas, who states: "We are looking forward new ways of to make for new ways to make our planet a better place for living".
"The World Space Summit will provide an unparalleled environment both government and companies together to collaborate on space surveillance and exploration, business development and research on the most effective integration of STM (Space Traffic Management), ATM (Air Traffic Management) and UTM (Unmanned Traffic Management)", says Brian Bruckbauer, CEO at ATCA.
Both in IFEMA and in Cuatro Vientos, the WOSS Theatre will host high-level keynote presentations and round-table discussions by experts in different areas related to space. Including:
● Direct and indirect benefits of space activities: Beneficios directos e indirectos de explorar el espacio: from generating scientific knowledge and innovation, creating new markets and agreements between nations to environmental sustainability, safety and better understanding humankind’s place in the universe.
● International space outlook: nowadays there are a lot of commercial space activities and initiatives going on, including an insights from both commercial and military points of view.
● Future of space traffic management: sessions will explore the seam between controlled airspace and space, in terms of monitoring and control, and what can we expect in the future.
● Launch & re-entry operations: international coordination needs & processes.
● Spaceports and range operations: how to develop and modernize launch and range activities as part of a larger goal of envisioning an advanced spaceport.
● Risk management models for spaces activities: from the perspective of risk management they may be considered High Reliability Organizations (HROs), requiring a slightly different approach to maximize safety.
● Commercial & military space collaboration: there are good examples of successful multinational collaborations like the ISS (International Space Station). Sessions will explore these opportunities, from the small to the larger ones.
● Awareness in low earth orbit: Space Situational Awareness (SSA) is an essential element of all governmental space programs. It includes several analyses like Collision Avoidance (CA), Re-entry (RE) of artificial space objects into the atmosphere and Fragmentation (FG).
● Obtaining superiority in the space military operations: we will explore how the SSA and other key elements integrate and play an important role on joint military operations.
● Opportunities: by 2050 several emerging economic sectors will likely have developed to make space influence and travel a much bigger part of everyday life on earth.
