Organisation Overview
The Civil Aviation Authority of Botswana ("CAAB") is a Statutory Corporation established under the Civil Aviation Authority Act (CAP 71:04) of 2004. This Act was repealed by the Civil Aviation Act of 2011. CAAB is responsible for, amongst others, the regulation of air transport and enforcement of civil aviation regulations, the provision of air navigation services as well as the operation and development of airports and advising the Government on civil aviation matters.
The CAA Act stipulates that the Authority shall perform its functions in accordance with sound commercial and financial principles, and shall ensure as far as possible, that its revenue is sufficient to meet the expenditure properly chargeable to its revenues.
CAAB’s vision is "To be a world – class provider of safe, secure and efficient aviation services" and its mission is "To provide efficient and effective aviation services to our customers through continuous development of the aviation industry in Botswana."
