Specialism

Professional Profile: With more than 20 years of professional experience gained in the design and development of software systems for a variety of processing and control applications. I have worked on a wide range of hardware platforms and have experience of programming in a number of languages. I have also worked for a number of years on defence-related applications and am familiar with the formal development methodologies and requirements necessary to support a quality controlled development environment. I have extensive experience in a variety of fields within Air Traffic Management Systems both in the development and Online Operational Support and Maintenance of important ATM processing functions (Flight Data Processing [FDP], Meteorological and Aeronautical Information Services [MET/AIS], Operational Display System [ODS], Operational Monitoring and Control System [OMC] and Surveillance Data Processing Systems [SDP]) and within this domain, I have also gained many years experience in the areas of Software Programming and Software Test and Validation and Quality Management. I have been employed by EUROCONTROL, in Prague, where I have been involved in writing ATM system specifications and supporting the development of the CEATS Project (Central European Air Traffic System). More recently, I have assisted with the technical analysis of the operational concepts and airspace design for the Functional Airspace Block within Central Europe [FAB CE] and provided an important contribution to the definition of the Data Processing system requirements and technical concepts helping ANSPs to achieve convergence and harmonisation between their systems to support inter and intra FAB wide operational concepts. I have also been employed by EUROCONTROL/CFMU, where I have been involved with writing the Call for Tender and Technical Specifications for the Call Sign Similarity Tool, to address the Call Sign Confusion hazard as identified in the European Action Plan for Air Ground Communications Safety. I have also been involved with writing specifications for a web portlet application to be integrated into the CFMU Network Operations Plan [NOP] Portal. Currently I have been working on documentation to capture existing system functionality and any planned future developments to support preparation of System Requirements Specification document and in the future to help produce other documentation needed for evidence for Safety for a small ATC Company in Prague who provides ATC Systems for Fall-Back, By-Pass, Flight Information Services and Flight Billing to the Air Navigation Service Providers.
