Mr Mike Gahan has accumulated extensive experience in a wide range of aviation and management disciplines, through a career spanning professional consultancy, civil and military aviation management and regulation, training management, training provision, operational air traffic management, aviation system requirements management and international aviation working group participation. He has spent considerable time on overseas assignments, focusing primarily on advanced technology air traffic systems, airspace management, training design and management and co-ordination of joint international aviation policy and procedures. Airservices Australia employed him as a senior manager in the air traffic services division and in a management position in the Airspace and Environment Regulatory Unit. He has undertaken system specification tasks for ATM systems in both the military and civil environments, in Australia and overseas. He has provided lead management and technical specialist support to tender evaluation and test and implementation teams for advanced technology ATM systems. He has an excellent working understanding of national and international aviation regulations and ICAO processes. He is experienced in all aspects of airspace and air traffic management design and regulation. He has excellent aviation contacts throughout the world.
