Searidge Intrusion Detection System in Operation at Aspen-Pitkin County Airport

System enhances situational awareness while minimizing intrusion risks in controlled zones

- Madrid, Spain

Searidge Technologies, provider of surface management solutions to Air Navigation Service Providers (ANSPs) and airports, announced that the Searidge Intrusion Detection System is in operation and will be moving toward final acceptance at Aspen-Pitkin County Airport (ASE). The solution provides intrusion detection and automated alerting for the critical area adjoining the movement and non-movement areas of the airport.

The Searidge ATC-Grade video system uses strategically placed thermal cameras to continuously monitor and present real-time video feeds from digital camera sensors to a one-look display - giving controllers a real-time view of the monitored area. The addition of the IntelliDARTM intelligent video platform provides critical detection, positioning, classification and tracking of the traffic to automatically alert the Aspen airport operations team of vehicle, pedestrian and animal intrusions in the restricted area.  “The Searidge team worked hard to ensure a smooth, efficient deployment of this system. As a result, surface operations staff is now alerted when an intrusion takes place and the incident is archived for review,” says Jim Elwood, Airport Director, Aspen-Pitkin County Airport.  “This will increase safety on our surface and help us comply with FAA regulations related to vehicle/pedestrian deviations.”

We look forward to continuing to support Aspen-Pitkin County Airport in its active pursuit to increase safety and security,” says Moodie Cheikh, Chief Executive Officer, Searidge Technologies. “This deployment shows the continuous momentum and acceptance of intelligent video –based solutions to cost effectively solve airport surface management challenges.”
