ALTYS will lead the Clean Sky 2 Program research & development on the future IP based data link infrastructure
ALTYS Technologies together with the COMET consortium members (Airtel ATN, Frequentis, Siemens France and the University of Bradford) were recently selected by the Clean Sky 2 (CS2) Joint Undertaking to carry out the work on the future cockpit network communications infrastructure, under the program’s SYSTEMS Integrated Technology Demonstrator portion led by THALES.
With an 8-million Euros budget, the COMET project will design, develop and test novel dual ACARS - IPS cockpit and ground network infrastructures operating in a multi-link environment (VDL2, Swiftbroadband SATCOM, AeroMACS and LDACS) to enable seamless air-to-ground connectivity in support of trajectory-based ATC operations and future airline services. The optimization of flight operations made possible with appropriate digital communications means together with the use of next generation modular avionic platforms allowing savings in Size, Weight and Power (SWaP), will allow sensible improvements of the aircraft environmental performance.
If you wish to know more, visit us at the World ATM Conference 2018 on stand #1137 and at the AeroMACS 2018 conference held by ALTYS at the Aireon Spotlight - Wednesday 7 March @ 16:35.
Clean Sky 2 is the European Commission’s program in partnership with the European aeronautical industry to develop breakthrough technologies that significantly increase the environmental performance of aviation. More on Clean Sky 2 here (http://www.cleansky.eu/)
