CANSO Appoints Samantha Sharif as Interim Director General

CANSO Chairman Paul Riemens said: Samantha is well known in the CANSO community having served as Director Industry Affairs for five years. She has the skills and experience needed to ensure CANSOs work continues as planned, and I am confident she will serve our members well.

In her new position, Ms. Sharif will work closely with the CANSO Executive Committee managing the associations day-to-day operations. She will focus on the continued delivery of CANSOs priorities in Safety, Operations and Policy. Ms. Sharif will also drive preparations for the upcoming AGM and ATM Summit in June, as well as the inaugural World ATM Congress in Madrid, 12-14 February 2013.

Ms Sharif commented: CANSO continues to make huge strides under its Waypoint Strategy and it is imperative that we continue building on this momentum. I am committed to delivering on our members high expectations and look forward to working closely with both the ExCom and Secretariat.

The CANSO Executive Committee appointed Ms. Sharif as interim Director General following the departure of former Director General Graham Lake earlier this month.
